Who we are

Style the Rest is run by the Style the Rest team. Questions about your data? Email the contact email shown on this page.

What we collect

• The piece you style: a photo or a written description of a clothing item, plus your choices (menswear or womenswear, item type, occasion, style vibe).
• Things you choose to save: closet pieces (with their photo), starred looks (with any generated photo) and shared links.
• A random device ID in a cookie, so your closet and saved looks stay private to your browser. It isn’t linked to your name or email.
• If you sign in (optional): your email address, from Google or the email you type, so your closet and saved looks follow you across devices.
• If you buy Plus: your subscription status and dates. Payments are handled by Stripe or RevenueCat; we never see or store your card details.
• Basic usage counts for daily limits, recorded against a scrambled (one-way hashed) form of your IP address, never the address itself.

You can browse Style the Rest without an account (styling needs one). We don’t ask for your name or location, we don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and we never sell your data.

How we use it

• Styling: your photo or description is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to create the outfits.
• Realistic photos: only when you tap “See it on a model”, the look and your piece’s photo are sent to Google (Gemini) or OpenAI to generate the image.
• Real products: only when you tap “Find real products”, the outfit’s descriptions are used by Anthropic to search shop websites.
• Storage and sign-in: things you save, and your account if you sign in, are stored with Supabase (London, UK). The site runs on Vercel. Sign-in emails are sent through our email provider.
• Payments: Plus subscriptions are processed by Stripe or RevenueCat (which uses Stripe for card payments). They receive your email and payment details directly, and RevenueCat receives your account’s ID.
• Fair use: usage counts enforce daily limits and prevent abuse.

We rely on providing the service you ask for, and our legitimate interest in keeping it running fairly, as the legal bases under UK GDPR. These AI providers process your request to return a result; check their privacy policies for how they handle data.

How long we keep it

• Photos you style but don’t save aren’t stored by Style the Rest after your outfits are made.
• Closet pieces, saved looks and shared links are kept until you delete them, or delete all your data above.
• Usage records are deleted after 90 days.
• Your account is kept until you delete it. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires.

Your rights

You can download or delete your data at any time using the buttons above. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete it by emailing the contact email shown on this page. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies and local storage

• fr_device: keeps your closet and saved looks private to this browser (2 years). Essential.
• fr_auth and fr_auth_refresh: keep you signed in, only if you sign in. Essential.
• fr_session: only if the site is password-protected (30 days). Essential.
• Your browser’s local storage remembers preferences (theme, shopping region) and your latest results, so they survive a refresh. It stays on your device.

We don’t use any tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, so there’s nothing to opt out of.

Shared links

When you tap “Copy link”, a snapshot of that look becomes viewable by anyone with the link. It never includes the photo of your own piece. Delete all your data above to remove your shared links.

AI-generated content

Outfit suggestions and “on a model” photos are generated by AI. Photos show generated people, not real customers, and suggestions may not always be perfect.

Children

Style the Rest isn’t intended for children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
